GA HB1178 (Education): Would prevent certain rights of parents related to their child from so-called “undue infringement” by a state or local government entity, local board of education or other governing body, or any officer, employee, or agent thereof. This bill has been passed by the state house and sent to the state senate. See bill here.
TN HB1944 (Education): Would prohibit a local education authority or public school from making so-called “obscene materials or materials harmful to minors” available to students in the school libraries controlled by the local education authority or public school. TN HB2835 (LGBTQ+): Would prohibit a political subdivision’s funding from being used, directly or indirectly, for the performance of or in furtherance of gender transition procedures or to support the administration of a governmental health plan or government-offered insurance policy offering gender transition procedures. TN SB0528 (General Preemption): Would prohibit a political subdivision from establishing, mandating, or otherwise requiring online marketplaces to verify information from high-volume third-party sellers on a one-time or ongoing basis or disclose information to consumers.
